Introduction to Heritage Site

The publicized address of the building is 13 Tianwei Road. According to the actual condition and requirements for conservation, the address is adjusted to 18-4 Tianwei Road. The early-modern-style brick-concrete building was completed in the 1930s. 13 Tianwei Road used to be Xuying Elementary School (also known as Japanese Elementary School). It was taken over by the government after the liberation in 1949. The brick-concrete building has three floors with a flat roof and a parapet wall. The exterior wall is a stuccoed wall. The windows and doors are installed with shutters. The glass has two layers. In 2004, Xiamen Municipal Cadres' Sanatorium did a restoration to the building. The doors and windows were changed into metal-plastic sliding doors and windows. The exterior wall has been painted. Now, it is used by the Sanatorium.
