Introduction to Heritage Site

Built in 1935, Ru Nan Villa consists of a gate, courtyard walls and a two-story Western-style building. It is 16 meters in breadth and 29 meters in depth, showing the typical Xiamen style. The top of the Western-style gate is decorated with patterns of Western flowers and marked with "1935". With a narrow front and broad rear, the main building appears to protrude. With a courtyard, the building integrates features of architecture in the Minnan region. One distinctive feature is a spacious rectangular balcony in the front elevation supported by ancient Greek-style Ionic concrete columns. The windows were built with concrete and the lintels of the windows are decorated with vines. The beams are decorated with triangular lines. The exterior of the building is symmetric, consistent and delicately decorated, showing high artistic values.
