Introduction to Heritage Site
The site at 1 Neicuoao Road consists of a courtyard, gatehouse, walls and a two-story building. The gatehouse is a Western-style arched gate with a triangular pointed top. The front elevation of the first and second floors of the main building (1 Neicuoao Road) is set with connected arched corridors supported by red square columns, showing characteristics of Southeast Asian architecture. The building mainly uses red bricks and is equipped with a damp-proof layer built of dressed stones. The entrance is the arched colonnade. Architectural details are reflected on window casings and eaves. The building looks quaint and elegant. The building at the back of 1 Neicuoao Road is marked 1-1 Neicuoao Road, showing both Chinese and Western features. The building is symmetric and was mainly built with red bricks. The two large columns in the middle look grandiose. The porches form a polygon space and the part of the periphery of the window frames was plastered white. The eave is corbelled. The railings are in Chinese style. The columns are of the Ionic order. The architectural details are rich and present a strong three-dimensional effect. On the whole, the building is elegant and grand.
