Introduction to Heritage Site

The building at 10 Gongping Road combines Chinese and Western styles with a breadth of 30 meters and a depth of 35 meters. The main building contains two floors and the front elevation of both upper and lower floors are set with connected arched corridors. The exterior walls are unique with washed white gravels and the rails of the corridor on the second floor are decorated with glazed-pottery vases. The columns and beams of the arches are decorated with simple lines and Western geometric patterns. Some of the rectangular windows are installed with concrete frames with arched or horizontal window eaves. The decorations of the building are simple but elegant. Handling of corbelled eaves, rails and colonnades shows the great variety and strong three-dimensional sense. The overall style of the building is elegant and solid. Its rear and left sides lie two two-story annex buildings.
