Former Yanping Complex

Yanping Complex covers an area of 2,921 square meters and the top of its entrance consists of wave-shaped patterns written with "Kulangsu Market" and decorated with flowers and other patterns. On the two sides of the entrance lie large steps leading to the theater on the second floor. The theater, with a double-pitched roof, has a lobby in a rectangular shape and the two sides near the side walls reach forward in an arch shape. The theater is 35 meters long in the east-west direction, 15 meters wide in the north-west direction, and 10 meters high. The transoms of the triangular pediments on the two sides remained. Equipped with balconies and stalls, the theater has 600 seats upstairs and downstairs available for acting, storytelling and playing films. On the east side of the lobby lies the screen and the stage, and the back wall of the west is installed with a projection room for placing a movie projector which works through the square hole above the back wall. The exit of the back gate can be found in the south of the theater following the stairs.
